Peter Valles is a Director at Azzure Marine Associates with responsibility for the management and development of the company.
He started his career in the marine industry in 1991; 16 years of sea service following which he stepped ashore to become a surveyor in 2006 and continues to be an active surveyor in the field as well as a consultant on all things maritime. For the offshore sector he has acted as a company rep., marine warranty surveyor in rig-moving, offshore installation construction, deep water pipe laying and other high risk offshore activities and associated surveys including suitability, condition, towage, break bulk and heavy lift cargoes, vessel condition surveys and pre-purchase surveys of a number of bulk vessels and product tankers. He has the experience and a sound working knowledge of offshore vessels, bulk carriers, oil tankers and containers vessels. He has been a part of a team in a number of offshore installations which included underwater survey work with divers and ROV’s, jack up installation barges and rigs and offshore installations from initial risk assessments, operational method statement reviews, on site planning, execution and trouble shooting. Peter is known for his ability to handle complex claims with a practical approach to achieve viable and swift results.
Peter qualified as a Master Mariner from the UK with an unlimited tonnage license. He has a Diploma in Marine Industry Survey specializing in Marine warranty from the University of Portsmouth, NEBOSH certification in
Occupational health and Safety (part 1&2) He holds an MBA in operations and finance. He is currently pursuing insurance certification through the Chartered Insurance Institute of London. His professional interests focus on insurance and risk with respect to the marine industry. He is a founding member and Fellow of the UAE branch of the International Institute of Marine Surveying, continues to serve on the committee since 2009 and was Chairman from 2016 to 2018. He is also an Associate Fellow of the Nautical Institute and served on the NI UAE branch committee in 2017. He is a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute in London with aspirations of becoming a full-fledged insurance professional.
Capt Rohit Dogra is an experienced Aframax Tanker Master with a diverse marine background ranging from vessel FPSO Conversions , to setting up of ‘Safety Management’ systems for international shipping companies, and handling commercial cargo fixtures for Oil Tankers . He is a Class qualified ‘Lead Auditor & Internal Auditor’ and an experienced navigator and port captain.
Rohit has worked closely with the US coast Guard and Oil majors to convert Aframax tankers into Storage units combating sub-sea oil spills. He has played a key role in negotiating terms with oil majors , relating to Cargo & Vessel performance claims. He has successfully taken part in several Inspections and audits . As an experienced mariner, Rohit has accumulated a wealth of experience in safely carrying out Ship to Ship transfer operations, the world over.
